Bulletins Menu
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note that the Bulletin Status, displayed at the foot of the
Bulletins Menu, reflects the status of bulletins generally, not
just those in the current conference.
Cursor Up } Use these keys to select a particular bulletin
Cursor Down } from the current conference.
Page Up }
Page Down }
Ctrl/PgUp - move to the 'previous' conference in the conference
list of the current message base.
Ctrl/PgDn - move to the 'next' conference in the conference list
of the current message base.
Enter - if the currently highlighted bulletin is unread then
display it. Otherwise, move highlight bar to 'next unread'
bulletin, changing conference if necessary. If there are
no unread bulletins, move highlight bar to next bulletin
in the current conference.
Note that, if there were unread bulletins in conference
0 when the Bulletins Area was first entered AND the area
was entered using the Return key, rather than Tab, then
Power-QWK considers you to be in 'just browse conf 0'
mode. When there are no more unread bulletins in this
conference, Power-QWK returns to the Topics Menu.
This is therefore the default reading mode when reading
newly downloaded mail packets by the recommended method
of repeatedly pressing the Return Key.
Tab - display the highlighted bulletin, whether or not it has been
read already.
Shift/Tab - call another program to process the highlighted
bulletin. For bulletins larger than 64Kb, you may use
this facility to invoke your favourite editor or
file display program.
You could also use it to pass the contents of the
bulletin to programs such as TheDraw or UUEncode.
Del - delete the currently highlighted bulletin. Power-QWK asks
for confirmation before performing the deletion.
Esc - quit the Bulletins area. Return to either the Topics Menu
or the Message area, depending on how the Bulletins area was
entered in the first place.
If returning to the Messages area, and you have changed
conference while in Bulletins, Power-QWK will ask if you
want to return to your original conference in the Messages
area or stay in the one currently selected in the Bulletins
area.
R - Mark the currently highlighted bulletin as 'read'.
U - Mark the currently highlighted bulletin as 'unread'
F2 - call up the Conference Pick List, from which to choose a
new Conference to be entered.
In a Bulletins area, the Conference Pick List shows an
asterisk against the names of conferences which have unread
bulletins.
In a Messages area, it places an asterisk against the names
of conferences which have unread mail.
Whenever a Bulletin is actually on display, you can also press F
to transfer its contents to a DOS file, P to print it or T to
'steal' text from it to be added into your Taglines file.
For more help, press F1 again when there is a bulletin on display.
